GROUNDED IN WATER: A STORY OF FLOW

Ecological Habitat in Olympos/Antalya

Year: 2025

Construction Area: 150 sqm

Details: For water is not merely a resource, it is the memory of the earth.
In Antalya’s Olympos region, water has long shaped daily life and agriculture. This project reimagines water as a central design element, shaping space, climate, and experience.

Built on agricultural land, the house integrates an existing water well into both structure and life cycle. Rainwater is collected, filtered, and returned to the well, establishing a continuous cycle between water, earth, and architecture. Oriented to the climate, the house features a closed western façade for sun protection and open eastern façades framing Mediterranean views. Natural ventilation, enhanced by the cool well air, creates a passive climate system.

This is not merely a building, but a self-sustaining organism, an architecture rooted in ecological intelligence and the memory of place.
