Flat Renovation in Beyoglu/Istanbul
Year: 2012
Construction area: 90 sqm
Details: The flat is located in a historic building in the Cihangir/Beyoğlu neighborhood of Istanbul. It was designed for a young couple who appreciate simple, functional design with a subtle industrial touch. Owning two cats influenced several unconventional material and furniture choices, such as the use of wooden panels and blinds instead of curtains, and leather upholstery rather than textiles in most of the furniture. Solid wood and iron sheets were also preferred for loose furniture due to their durability and ability to age gracefully. What makes this flat truly unique is that every piece of furniture used in the space was custom-designed specifically for this project.
